Youth Developmental League (YDL)

The Youth Developmental League (YDL) is designed to introduce young athletes to structured scrimmage-style play while continuing to develop fundamental basketball skills. Participants will enhance their offensive and defensive abilities, gain a better understanding of game strategies, and improve weekly comprehension of basketball rules through guided practice and live gameplay.
 


Program Details

 

  • Level: Intermediate to Advanced Players Only

  • Ages: Boys and Girls ages 8–10  |  11-13

  • Session Length: 1 or 2 hours per week

  • Each weekly session includes:

  • 30 minutes of practice

  • 30 minutes of scrimmage play

  • Practice sessions focus on:

  • Skill and drill development

  • Shooting, passing, and dribbling

  • Defensive techniques

  • Understanding the rules of the game

  • Please note: There are no sessions held during federal holiday weekdays / weekends.

PRICING

- 1-Day- $180 Monthly or $480 quarterly 

- 2-Days- $360 Monthly or $960 quarterly 

-Registration is open ended

Youth Developmental League

GAME RULES

All procedures, restrictions, and exceptions are outlined below.

Clock

  • Scrimmages are played in four (4) 7-minute quarters with a running clock.
     

  • Player substitutions occur every 7 minutes to ensure equal participation.
     

Dress Code

  • No jewelry may be worn during scrimmage.
     

  • Jewelry that cannot be removed will be reviewed by the referee(s), who will determine if the participant is eligible to play.
     

  • Participants must wear Breakaway Hoops reversible jerseys to clearly identify teams.
     

  • Parents are required to purchase uniforms to help participants recognize their assigned teams.
     

Non-basketball glasses are not permitted on the basketball court at any time.
